WOYWW #253

Yup - that day again! Today I have exciting news - I am a winner at Rhedd and Rosies Challenge Blog! My first entry for a challenge that had to include a tree, and I won! So I get to put a button on my blog, and I get a prize. Happy day!

If you want to know more about WOYWW (What's On Your Workspace Wednesday), just pop on over to The Stamping Ground and all will be revealed! I am very late today - I've had a busy day. My DD's boyfriend has his 30th birthday this weekend, and I needed to make his card. I knew what image I wanted to use, a recent one of his trip to Mexico, but that was all. So here is my journey into making his card!

This is what my desk looked like first thing this morning:

Then I got down to business.
First I need my helper. . .

And we're off. . .

For the inside - I lost one of my plates if you can believe that! Where would it go? LOL! I had to use one from my Spellbinders machine.

And then I lost my scissors. For ten minutes. I thought I was going crazy - I JUST had them!!

Can you see them??

All done! Now THERE"S a messy desk!

Thanks for dropping by!

Happy April! Today is Wednesday, so it's What's On Your Workspace Wednesday! Just go HERE to see what this is all about!

The truth is, peeps, I really didn't do much this week in my room as you can see by this photo:

not much happening! But I did start on a card:

The bling is floating around because I haven't stuck them down yet!

But here is what I finally did do this week:

My mounted stamps are all organized into boxes like this:

which is fine. And they are numbered. I have pictures of them all in a giant binder that is rather cumbersome, so if I want to look at the stamps I can, without taking them all out of the box.

I also have my unmounted stamps organized into envelopes like this:

All this was working fine, except I got new unmounted stamps, and realized that this way of sorting them (by company) was just not working - I still couldn't find anything and had to go through the giant book everytime I needed to find a stamp.

I realized I really don't need to look through the giant book each time, AND I don't need to store my UMs by company. So my UMs are now sorted by number, much easier to add new stamps, and I have made a MASTER LIST for all my stamps - because I can skim over words much easier than hefting the giant book.

Here is my master List for my Mounted Stamps. . .

Which shows the number of the stamp, the name, the description, and location. So I have 1347 stamps so far (mounted). My Unmounted List is waiting to be printed, but when you think that each unmounted set has from 1-20 stamps on it, and my last number is 1545, there are a few more stamps that that! I think I will like this much more than hefting the BIG BOOK, and I will only really need to use it if I can't remember the stamp from the description.

So now that I've wowed you with my organization, I feel my desk can be as messy as it wants to be!

Hopefully, I can show you a very messy desk next week!

Over on the Rhedd and Rosie Challenge blog they are asking for trees/wood, their 29th challenge - I only just found it!

I love Stampscapes - I really must do this more often!

Watch out for this guy!

WOYWW 251!

Not that many posts for me, but I'm sure there are some die hard WOYWW posters out there! Please check the paisley button on my sidebar for more info on WOYWW (What's on Your Workspace Wednesday)

So here it is - the messy desk, as it was this morning.

I had an idea for a project board. I have one for scrapbooking and I love it, but it's always in use. I wanted one for card planning. I found a few ideas online - one was all set to go for $30 or so, one was shown in a tutorial on a card blog. I didn't want big gaudy magnets that would take away from the card, so I used my very strong tiny magnets from my scrapbooking magnet board. I switched some round craft magnets for them, since I do Project Life scrapbooking, it doesn't matter what's holding the photos down, as long as they don't fly away.  But for planning a card, I don't want the magnets to distract from the card.
I went looking for a magnetic white board, as the woman on the blog suggested, and found these Magnetic Die Sheets, thinking they just might work, and beside - I really NEED some of these! So for about $9.00 I bought a set of 3 (cheaper in the USA!) Well, they didn't work for the project board, buy that didn't matter at all. Then I remembered I had some new Dollar Store cookie sheets in the garage, and VOILA! A perfect planning board for my cards.
The Art Bin sheets have a carrier to go with them if desired, so far I don't need it.

Looking forward to seeing what everyone else is up to today!

Happy First Day of Spring!!!

This spring piggy was too cute to pass up! Looking forward to those spring puddles to splash in!

Here is a Spring ATC for you:

This was made with Distress Ink swiped onto white CS, then sprayed with water and heat dried. I stamped a Character Construction stamp on top, then stamped a feather from the same set on another piece of white CS and cut it out. The feather looks better in "person".

I'm obviously into the spring greens and yellows, because here is my Journal page from yesterday:

The challenge was to use a bird on my page, so I used one I had carved myself.

Have a wonderful first day of spring!

Here We Go Again. . .

Well, here it is March, and I haven't posted since February. Hard to believe time goes by so FAST! So it's Wednesday, the day for WOYWW (see paisley button on my side bar if you want to know more!) and here is my VERY messy desk. Not that there's any room at all to do any work. First job of today will be to clean it up!

And here's my kitten, Inky, searching for something new to play with. . .

And she brings out a bag! The other day she dragged a piece of tissue paper 5X her size down the stairs - hilarious!

This is the one that brings smiles and laughter to my day!
Hopefully I will get into this room today and get something done, even if it's only to make space for tomorrow!

Hope everyone is ready for Spring tomorrow! Yay!

WOYWW - Feb 26

I think I missed the last two Wednesdays, but here I am today. When I realized it was WOYWW (see sidebar for more info) I jumped up and took pics of my Workspace. Surprisingly neat! Doesn't mean I haven't been busy, though!

Here are today's photos:

And here is my newest Journal Page for

I hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday today! We have a fresh 3" of snow - how about you?
